Purpose:
    Bug Fix
Description:
    "gmake check" wasn't working on IRIX and Arabica because it was
    trying to get the dynamic libh4toh5.so library and couldn't find it.
Solution:
    Compile the program statically so that it doesn't have to search for
    the dynamic library at runtime...
