Correct some irregular indentation, delete an unused line, split an
`if ((p = allocate(...)) == NULL) { }` into two statements, `p =
allocate(...); if (p == NULL) { }`, put a semicolon at the end of an
HGOTO_ERROR(), remove comments /* end if */, /* end for */ after closing
curly braces.
