[svn-r14991] Maintenance: Fixed some bugs discovered by daily testing and by manual testing using -i8 flag
Platforms tested: linew (as for daily tests), icc and pgf90 with -i8 on kagiso; g95 has the problem
with -i8 (will be looking into the problem)
