[svn-r17874] Description:
Bring r17873 from trunk to 1.8 branch:
Change dense group storage to use refactored v2 B-tree interface. Also
tweak dimension sizes for dataset in test down so it doesn't blow out the stack.
Tested on:
FreeBSD/32 6.3 (duty) in debug mode
