[svn-r8645] Purpose: bug fix Description: If compound datatype has variable-length string as field, after it's committed to the file, when it's reopened, the size of the datatype is miscalculated. It makes the data unreadable. Dumper also fails to read data because of this problem. Solution: Change the size of datatype when it's committed to file. Then modify the size again for memory type when it's reopened. Platforms tested: h5committest and RH 8. Misc. update: RELEASE.txt
