[svn-r23337] Bug fix: HDFFV-8305

Some systems, like Mac, strings inspect library files and older versions
of strings maybe know newer library format, resulting in errors.
Make it read the file as stdin, avoiding this problem. 

Tested: h5committest. all passed.
